Fake FCA communications!

Be Aware! – Be Vigilant!

Dear Member,

Further to the earlier warning put out by the FCA last year, please be aware that a ‘scam’ e-mail purporting to be from the FCA has been reported by one of our members.

The scam e-mail looked quite authentic, suggesting that our member’s FCA fees were overdue. However, our member was immediately suspicious because he knew there were no overdue fees, and he also spotted an inconsistency in the FCA’s contact details. A call to the FCA confirmed his suspicions that it was indeed a scam.

We do not have details of how widespread this recurrence is, but if you receive a similar e-mail you should report the matter to the FCA and please take great care not to download anything, nor click on any links contained within it.
